Kelly is an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University and American University where she teaches Musical Theatre Dance, Choreography, and Dance Appreciation.

She is also a faculty member of Signature Theatre’s Overtures program as well as a regular guest artist at the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival. As an arts educator, she advocates for the truest, most authentic expression of oneself through the arts in a joyful, creative, safe, and inclusive environment. Her primary focus in teaching young artists is to support and guide them in finding their own bedrock of self-expression through the arts, while they navigate their adolescent years. Kelly strives to teach an arts curriculum that is inclusive and relevant to all young people with skills that transfer across their academic and social lives, teaching empathy and the importance of human connection in our digital age.

Kelly d’Amboise has been teaching, mentoring young artists, and creating arts curriculum for over 15 years. She has created and implemented curriculums teaching theatre arts, acting, and musical theatre through many different disciplines including ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance and acting, incorporating the techniques of Sanford Meisner and Uta Hagen. Fortunate to study with Ms. Hagen at the Howard Fine Acting Studio in Hollywood as a young performer, she learned that doing the work and discovering character through text while bringing one’s own life experience to embody character, is a discipline integral to all theatre artists. The truest form of art is dependent upon authentic self-expression. Passionate about teaching theater and dance to young artists and seeking to pass along the knowledge and gifts she has received from the luminaries she has worked and collaborated with throughout her career, Kelly seeks to champion young artists’ voices and the stories they have to tell.
